UnderTree - cropped a bitSince 1990, Robert Riversong has been a rock-climber, caver and rope-rescue instructor, with expertise in high-angle, fast-water, ice, mountain, cave and industrial rigging and rescue.

He has also been a certified Experiential Outdoor Educator, wilderness guide, and instructor in rock-climbing, canoe & kayak paddling, back-country skiing and winter survival.

He was a volunteer firefighter, off and on, for 30 years, an EMT for 20 years and WEMT instructor, a SAR-MED Tech and SAR instructor, a critical incident stress counselor and a municipal Emergency Management Coordinator.

He has trained many departments, squads and teams – including fire departments, ambulance squads, wilderness and urban search & rescue teams, and a nuclear power plant industrial rescue team.

He was also the last moderator of, and a principle contributor to, the world-renowned SAR-BC (British Columbia Search & Rescue Association) Rope Rescue discussion forum (2003).

He occasionally teaches a workshop in Rigging, Rolling & Raising: the Art of Moving Immovable Objects, as well as Rigging for Trail Work, and would be glad to consider coming to your site to train your group.
